A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ACPICA (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface Component Architecture) subsystem. The `acpi_ps_get_next_package_length()` function fails to properly validate the byte count when reading package lengths. A local user capable of supplying malformed ACPI tables can trigger this issue to crash the system, resulting in a denial of service (DoS).
