A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's AMD GPU driver (amdkfd). A local user could exploit this vulnerability to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) or kernel memory corruption by supplying an out-of-bounds doorbell identifier during queue allocation. The issue occurs because the doorbell allocation mechanism fails to validate whether the requested identifier is within permitted limits before updating internal tracking structures.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-24 16:55:10 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/amdkfd: Check bounds on allocate_doorbell

allocated_doorbell has an option to set the doorbell id
to a specific value (used by CRIU). This value was not
bounds checked.

Check to confirm it's less than KFD_MAX_NUM_OF_QUEUES_PER_PROCESS.
