A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Lenovo SE10 watchdog driver. Improper error handling during device initialization fails to clear a platform device pointer if registration fails, resulting in a use-after-free condition. A local user could exploit this vulnerability to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) through a system crash or potentially achieve arbitrary code execution.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-24 17:09:28 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

watchdog: lenovo_se10_wdt: Fix use-after-free and resource leak risk

Review by sashiko.dev highlighted potential use after free and resource
leak instances.

Set se10_pdev to null to prevent use after free

Remove DMI call back and instead directly call
se10_create_platform_device. Handle error cases appropriately
