Doc Text:
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ASUS ROG RYUJIN hardware monitoring driver. The driver fails to validate the length of incoming Human Interface Device (HID) reports before parsing response headers and data fields. An attacker capable of supplying truncated HID reports can cause the driver to consume uninitialized memory from the transport buffer and expose it through the sysfs interface. This issue leads to local information disclosure of uninitialized kernel memory.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-09-25 11:04:58 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

hwmon: (asus_rog_ryujin) Validate HID report lengths

rog_ryujin_raw_event() parses response headers and payload fields without
first checking that they are present in the received report. A short report
can therefore make the driver consume uninitialized bytes from the HID
transport buffer and expose them as sensor values through sysfs.

Validate the response header and the fields used by each response type
before parsing them.
