Description Marco Benatto 2026-09-29 21:43:08 UTC
Disclaimer: Community trackers are created by Red Hat Product Security team on a best effort basis. Package maintainers are required to ascertain if the flaw indeed affects their package, before starting the update process.

The DTLS retransmission logic does not correctly handle a handshake message write that is suspended part-way through.
The retransmitted message can be read past the message buffer and the retransmission overwrites the internal state the suspended write needs to resume correctly.

Comment 1 Sergio Correia 2026-10-13 21:18:49 UTC
The openssl crate is an optional dependency gated behind the microvm Cargo feature, which is not enabled in the Fedora build (the spec uses %cargo_build with no --features microvm). The vendored source includes stubs for microvm deps to satisfy Cargo.lock, but they are not compiled or linked.

Even if the microvm feature were enabled, arapuca uses openssl only for HTTPS connections (VM image downloads via reqwest). The DTLS handshake retransmission code path affected by this CVE is never exercised.

Closing as NOTABUG, as it is not affected.
