Disclaimer: Community trackers are created by Red Hat Product Security team on a best effort basis. Package maintainers are required to ascertain if the flaw indeed affects their package, before starting the update process.

A flaw was found in Django. The django.utils.translation.get_supported_language_variant() function used language codes as keys in an in-memory cache without first limiting their length. A remote, unauthenticated attacker could submit many distinct, very long language codes (for example via the Accept-Language HTTP header processed by Django's locale middleware) to grow this cache and consume excessive process memory over time. The upstream fix rejects or truncates language codes longer than 500 characters before the cached lookup. No confidentiality or integrity impact has been demonstrated.
