A flaw was found in ImageMagick. This vulnerability allows an attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by submitting a specially crafted magick script. When processing the malicious script, the application fails to properly close open file handles, leading to a resource leak. Repeated execution can exhaust available system file descriptors and cause the service to become unresponsive.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-08 14:27:18 UTC
ImageMagick before 7.1.2-31 contains a resource leak vulnerability that allows attackers to leave file pointers open by supplying a crafted magick script. Attackers can process malicious magick scripts to leak file descriptors, potentially exhausting resources and causing denial of service.
