Disclaimer: Community trackers are created by Red Hat Product Security team on a best effort basis. Package maintainers are required to ascertain if the flaw indeed affects their package, before starting the update process.

rustls-webpki (rustls/webpki) versions 0.101.0 through 0.103.11 and 0.104.0-alpha releases before 0.104.0-alpha.6 ignore X.509 name constraints that apply to URI names, causing such constraints to be accepted rather than enforced. Because name constraints are restrictions on otherwise properly issued certificates, the flaw is only reachable after successful signature verification and requires a misissued certificate to exploit; the library also provides no API for asserting URI names, and URI name constraints are otherwise unimplemented. Versions 0.103.12 and 0.104.0-alpha.6 reject URI name constraints unconditionally.

This bug is already fixed in published Bodhi updates, one per release it covers:
  sandogasa-0.11.1-1.fc43
  sandogasa-0.11.1-1.fc44

Correcting the record: this bug covers every Fedora release, and f45 was affected and fixed too, but its update was left out of the close.

f45 shipped sandogasa built against a vulnerable rust-rustls-webpki from sandogasa-0.10.0-1.fc45 (0.103.10), and was fixed by:

  sandogasa-0.10.2-1.fc45 (FEDORA-2026-973dd9acec), built against 0.103.13

which is at or past the 0.103.12 the advisory records. Added to Fixed In alongside the f43 and f44 updates.

The omission was a transient failure querying Bodhi for F45, which the triage tool could not tell from a release with no updates; tracked as https://github.com/slopfest/sandogasa/issues/46 and since fixed.
