Comment 1 Fabio Valentini 2026-10-09 14:20:50 UTC
Looks good to me.

The "(MIT OR Apache-2.0) AND BSD-3-Clause" license for "code + code generated from WHATWG data" is in line with what the encoding_rs crate does in this situation too: https://github.com/hsivonen/encoding_rs#licensing

===

Package was generated with rust2rpm, simplifying the review.

✅ package contains only permissible content
✅ package builds and installs without errors on rawhide
✅ test suite is run and all unit tests pass
✅ latest version of the crate is packaged
🫤 license matches upstream specification and is acceptable for Fedora:
correctly modified to account for BSD-3-Clause licensed generated code
🫤 license file is included with %license in %files:
text for the BSD-3-Clause license included manually (for now)
✅ package complies with Rust Packaging Guidelines

Package APPROVED.

Recommended post-import rust-sig tasks:

- set up package on release-monitoring.org:
  project: $crate
  homepage: https://crates.io/crates/$crate
  backend: crates.io
  version scheme: semantic
version filter (*NOT* pre-release filter): alpha;beta;rc;pre
  distro: Fedora
  Package: rust-$crate

- set bugzilla assignee overrides to @rust-sig (optional)

If you have a few minutes, I would appreciate a review of RHBZ#2535431 which should hopefully be a simple, 100% boilerplate package, which would unblock a pending package update.
