A flaw was found in FreeRDP. A remote attacker using a specially crafted Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client can request NSCodec compression with large display dimensions to trigger a memory allocation failure on the server. Because the server fails to properly clear memory pointers during error handling, this condition causes a double-free memory error during session cleanup. Consequently, an attacker can crash the server process, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-12 16:45:13 UTC
FreeRDP before 3.32.0 contains a double-free vulnerability in nsc_context_initialize_encode() that leaves dangling plane pointers after a partial buffer growth failure. Attackers using a crafted RDP client can negotiate NSCodec with a large desktop geometry to trigger allocation failure, crashing the server during context teardown.
