A flaw was found in FreeRDP. A remote attacker acting as a malicious Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) clipboard peer can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending a specially crafted image over the clipboard channel. When the client converts the image to the PNG format, a memory reallocation failure triggers a heap-based buffer overflow, causing an application crash.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-12 16:55:40 UTC
FreeRDP 3.10.0 through 3.32.2 contains a heap buffer overflow in the WinPR png_write_data callback that writes past the buffer after a realloc failure. A malicious RDP clipboard peer can supply a large CF_DIB image that triggers out-of-bounds memcpy during PNG conversion, causing a client crash.
