A flaw was found in KDE Dolphin. This vulnerability allows an attacker to achieve arbitrary command execution by supplying crafted folder names containing shell metacharacters. When a victim double-clicks the folder view background, the application fails to properly escape the path parameter, executing arbitrary commands with the privileges of the logged-in user.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-13 19:01:49 UTC
KDE Dolphin 24.08.0 through 26.08.2 contains an OS command injection vulnerability that allows attackers to execute commands by supplying crafted folder names substituted into the {path} placeholder. Attackers can embed a double quote and shell metacharacters in a directory name to escape quoting in slotDoubleClickViewBackground, executing commands when victims double-click the view background.
