A flaw was found in Qt for MCUs. When an application processes text through the Qt Quick Ultralite string interface, memory references are copied without transferring ownership. This condition causes the application to improperly release or reuse memory, leading to heap memory corruption. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by providing crafted text input, potentially resulting in arbitrary code execution or a denial of service (DoS) caused by an application crash.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-14 05:52:57 UTC
A defect in the Qt for MCUs core string handling causes heap memory corruption. When an application passes text into Qt Quick Ultralite using the public Qul::String interface type, and that text is held in a std::string, the conversion to the internal string type copies the pointer without taking ownership of it. Two objects then release the same memory, producing a double free, an invalid free, or a use-after-free.
