A flaw was found in Sofia-SIP. An unauthenticated remote attacker can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending a specially crafted Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message containing an oversized multipart boundary that exceeds the message body length. During message parsing, this flaw causes the application to read past allocated memory, resulting in a process crash.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-14 15:32:47 UTC
Sofia-SIP through 1.13.18 contains a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability in msg_multipart_parse() that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to crash the process by sending oversized MIME boundaries. Attackers can send an INVITE with a multipart Content-Type whose boundary exceeds the body length, causing memcmp to read past the heap buffer and crash the process.
