Doc Text:
A flaw was found in miniupnpc. An adjacent attacker can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) due to an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the XML parser's namespace handling. A malicious or spoofed Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) gateway on the local network can exploit this flaw by sending a crafted device description or response containing an element name that ends with a colon, triggering an out-of-bounds memory read that crashes the client application.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-14 15:35:16 UTC
miniupnpc through 2.3.3 contains a one-byte heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the minixml parseelt function's namespace-prefix handling that skips an end-of-buffer check after advancing past ':'. A malicious or spoofed UPnP gateway on the local network can send a device description or SOAP reply ending in ':' within an element name to crash the client.
