A flaw was found in AdPlug. By convincing a user to open a specially crafted, truncated TwinTeam DMO file, an attacker can trigger an out-of-bounds read in the CdmoLoader::load() function. This issue causes the application to crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-15 19:02:27 UTC
AdPlug through 2.4 contains a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability in CdmoLoader::load() in src/dmo.cpp that allows attackers to read past a heap allocation by supplying a truncated TwinTeam DMO file. Attackers can supply a 12- or 13-byte file passing dmo_unpacker::decrypt(), opened via CAdPlug::factory, to read bytes beyond packed_module and potentially crash the application.
