A flaw was found in OpenJPH. This vulnerability allows an attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) and memory corruption by tricking a user or application into processing a crafted image file. When the High-Throughput JPEG 2000 (HTJ2K) decoder processes single-row image blocks, an out-of-bounds write occurs past the allocated memory buffer, causing the application to crash.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-15 19:16:19 UTC
OpenJPH through 0.32.0 contains a heap out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the HTJ2K cleanup-pass decoder that allows attackers to corrupt memory via one-row codeblocks. Attackers can supply a crafted .j2c or .jph codestream with small precinct sizes, causing the decoder to write a second row past the codeblock buffer, resulting in memory corruption and crashes.
