A flaw was found in libmikmod. An attacker can provide a specially crafted MultiTracker (MTM) audio file to an application utilizing the library. Because the file parser does not properly validate the module channel count, parsing the file triggers an out-of-bounds memory read. This issue can cause an application crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-15 19:28:25 UTC
libmikmod through 3.3.15 contains a global out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the MultiTracker loader MTM_Load() because the module channel count is never clamped. Attackers can supply a crafted .mtm file with a channel count above 32 to read past the static pat array, corrupting track indices and crashing the loading application.
