A flaw was found in AdPlug. A heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the KSM file parsing component due to missing bounds checks when processing audio track data. An attacker could exploit this flaw by tricking a user into opening a specially crafted KSM file, resulting in memory corruption and a Denial of Service (DoS) through an application crash.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-15 19:31:16 UTC
AdPlug through 2.4 contains a heap-based buffer overflow in CksmPlayer::update() in src/ksm.cpp that writes past the fixed databuf[2048] array without bounds checking. Attackers can supply a crafted .ksm module whose notes share one time slot to overflow the heap player object, causing memory corruption and denial of service.
