Description Fabio Valentini 2026-10-17 14:28:59 UTC
The "structopt" crate is obsolete, its functionality has been integrated into "clap" versions 3 and newer. The last "actual" release was in 2021, v0.3.26 in 2022 only added a deprecation notice to the docs.

The "structopt" crate has also been officially marked as "unmaintained" a few months ago:
https://rustsec.org/advisories/RUSTSEC-2022-0104.html

We are tracking getting rid of structopt (and clap v2) since they in turn also pull in even more very old dependencies:
https://forge.fedoraproject.org/rust/backlog/issues/22

Porting from structopt to clap v4 "derive" feature is usually straightforward, there is also a migration guide:
https://github.com/clap-rs/clap/blob/v4.6.0/CHANGELOG.md

Reproducible: Always
