A flaw was found in lodepng. A missing bounds check in the getFilterTypesInterlaced function allows an out-of-bounds memory read when handling decompressed image data. An attacker could exploit this flaw by supplying a specially crafted interlaced PNG image for processing, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) through an application crash or the unauthorized disclosure of adjacent memory.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-18 11:41:58 UTC
LodePNG through 20261006 contains a heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability in lodepng::getFilterTypesInterlaced() in lodepng_util.cpp that lacks bounds checks on decompressed IDAT data. Attackers can supply a crafted interlaced PNG declaring a raster larger than its IDAT stream to disclose adjacent heap memory or crash applications.
