A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Nouveau graphics driver. The driver fails to properly release a reference to a PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) bridge device after querying its configuration space during initialization. A local user could exploit this flaw during device setup or binding to cause a kernel resource leak, potentially leading to a Denial of Service (DoS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-18 15:26:26 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/nouveau: Fix bridge reference leak in nv1a_ram_new()

pci_get_domain_bus_and_slot() takes a reference to the PCI device,
which is never released once the memory size has been read from its
config space. Drop the reference before returning.
