A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's AMD GPU driver. When dynamic power management (DPM) is disabled, the driver attempts to schedule thermal management tasks on an uninitialized work queue upon receiving an interrupt. A local user could exploit this condition to trigger a kernel crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-23 12:23:34 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/amd/pm/si: Don't schedule thermal work when queue isn't initialized

When DPM is turned off with the amdgpu.dpm=0 module parameter,
the thermal work queue isn't initialized so we shouldn't
schedule any work on it.
