A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ADAU1372 audio codec driver. The driver improperly utilizes non-sleepable operations to toggle power-down General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) pins that can sleep, such as those connected through external bus controllers. A local user triggering audio power-state changes could cause a Denial of Service (DoS) or system instability due to triggered kernel warnings.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-23 12:53:40 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ASoC: adau1372: allow sleepy powerdown GPIOs

gpiod_set_value() emits a WARN when the GPIO provider indicates that it
can sleep, as is typical for I2C controlled GPIO expanders. Since the
powerdown GPIO is only manipulated in process context, use the _cansleep
variant instead. This lets the driver use sleepy GPIOs to power off the
chip.
