Description Steve Cossette 2026-10-23 13:49:09 UTC
Tracker for the update and the FE

Reproducible: Always

Comment 1 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2026-10-23 13:51:16 UTC
Proposed as a Freeze Exception for 45-final by Fedora user farchord using the blocker tracking app because:

Includes the bugfix release of KDE Gear 26.08.2, and the Plasma 6.8.1 update. Said 6.8.1 update was tested for a couple weeks with testers in this forum thread: https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/kde-regarding-the-releases-of-kde-apps-26-08-2-plasma-6-8-0/204243/29

Comment 2 Kamil Paral (Fedora Quality) 2026-10-23 14:42:27 UTC
The component "kup-backup" confuses me. If it's not related at all, and it's here to just to request an FE for a lots of packages in KDE, why not move this under distribution?

Because that's not how we have ever filed these because Bodhi gets a little weird about BZes not associated with packages in the update. We usually pick plasma-workspace or plasma-desktop, though...

AGREED AcceptedFinalFreezeException

Discussed at the 2026-10-26 (blocker / freeze exception) review meeting:

This is accepted on the basis that the KDE team wants the release to be up to date, and it has had sufficient testing via COPR, updates-testing, and openQA images.

There are problems with external monitors connected to NVIDIA dGPUs with KWin 6.8.1. It's fixed in 6.8.2. See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=527591 .
