Description Srikanth Balasubramanian 2026-10-23 15:41:40 UTC
Disclaimer: Community trackers are created by Red Hat Product Security team on a best effort basis. Package maintainers are required to ascertain if the flaw indeed affects their package, before starting the update process.

A flaw was found in Node.js. Non-canonical numeric hostnames (for example 127.1 or 0127.0.0.1) can be normalized by domainToASCII() to one IPv4 address for certificate checks while the platform resolver connects to a different address. A TLS client may therefore accept a certificate that does not identify the connected peer, enabling server impersonation.

This vulnerability is fixed in the latest available release of nodejs24-24.22.1.
