A flaw was found in vllm. An authenticated remote attacker could cause a Denial of Service (DoS) or memory corruption by submitting requests containing invalid stop token identifiers. Because the application does not verify whether provided stop tokens fall within the model's vocabulary range, indexing these values can crash the inference engine or trigger an out-of-bounds write in GPU memory.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-25 13:32:36 UTC
vLLM from 0.20.1 before 0.29.0 contains an improper input validation vulnerability that allows remote attackers to crash the engine by supplying out-of-vocabulary stop_token_ids. Attackers can send OpenAI chat, completion, generate, or batch requests with invalid IDs to terminate the engine or write outside the V2 runner's logits buffer.
