A flaw was found in vLLM. This flaw allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by exhausting system memory. The vulnerability occurs because the Nemotron-VL processor modules disable the global maximum image pixel limit during image processing. By submitting a specially crafted, highly compressed image to the application programming interface (API), an attacker can trigger excessive memory allocation that terminates the worker process and disrupts service for all users.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-25 13:34:29 UTC
vLLM from 0.10.2 before 0.25.0 contains an uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to exhaust memory because the Nemotron-VL processors globally set Image.MAX_IMAGE_PIXELS to None. Attackers can submit a pathological decompression-bomb image to /v1/chat/completions to OOM-kill the worker and deny service to co-tenants.
