Doc Text:
A flaw was found in Wasmtime. A malicious WebAssembly (Wasm) module can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by crashing the host runtime. This issue occurs because an internal execution flag is not properly cleared during memory reallocation (realloc), allowing the guest module to unexpectedly call into host operations while handling stream or future results. As a result, the host encounters an unexpected state, leading to a panic and termination.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-29 16:33:59 UTC
Wasmtime 46.0.0 before 48.0.6 and 49.0.0 before 49.0.3 contains a denial of service vulnerability that allows malicious Wasm modules to panic the host because the may_leave flag is not cleared during realloc. Attackers can call into the host from realloc while lowering stream or future results, such as cancelling the active read or re-waiting a waitable-set, crashing the host.
