Doc Text:
A flaw was found in Wasmtime. This issue allows a Denial of Service (DoS) condition where the host application crashes when canceling pending asynchronous tasks. When an embedder drops or cancels an asynchronous function call before execution begins, cleanup routines fail to handle the missing work item properly and trigger an unhandled error panic. Consequently, an attacker capable of inducing cancellations or timeouts of pending requests can terminate the host process.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-29 18:05:19 UTC
Wasmtime 46.0.0 before 48.0.6 and 49.0.0 before 49.0.3 contains a denial of service vulnerability where dropping the Future returned by TypedFunc::call_async can panic the host. When the guest task has not started, cleanup code searches only one location for work items and unwraps the resulting error, crashing embedders that cancel pending calls.
