A flaw was found in the SQLite command-line interface. This vulnerability allows an attacker to achieve arbitrary command execution by convincing a user to run the recovery command on a specially crafted database. Because the recovery process fails to sanitize embedded shell instructions within the database schema, piping or re-importing the recovered output into the command-line shell executes operating system commands with the privileges of the running user.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-30 11:42:32 UTC
SQLite command-line shell through 3.54.1 contains a command injection vulnerability in the .recover command that emits attacker-planted dot-commands stored in sqlite_schema.sql values verbatim. Attackers can craft a database whose schema holds a valid CREATE statement followed by a .shell or .system line, executing OS commands when victims pipe .recover output into sqlite3.
