A flaw was found in tcpflow. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit an out-of-bounds read vulnerability by processing crafted network packets with manipulated Internet Protocol (IP) payload lengths in live traffic or packet capture (PCAP) files. This can allow the attacker to cause an information disclosure by leaking sensitive process memory into reconstructed session files, or crash the application to cause a Denial of Service (DoS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-30 14:07:06 UTC
tcpflow through 1.6.1 contains an out-of-bounds read vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to read process memory by sending packets with forged IP payload lengths. Attackers can inject crafted IPv4 or IPv6 TCP packets into captured traffic or pcap files to leak adjacent memory into reconstructed flow files or crash tcpflow.
