A flaw was found in Scribus. An integer overflow in the Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) loader allows an attacker to trigger a heap buffer overflow by convincing a user to import a maliciously crafted TIFF image with oversized tile dimensions. Successful exploitation could allow arbitrary code execution or cause the application to crash, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-30 15:48:42 UTC
Scribus before 1.6.7 contains an integer overflow vulnerability in the scimgdataloader_tiff TIFF loader that allows attackers to trigger a heap overflow via crafted tile dimensions. Attackers can supply a tiled TIFF with large tile width, height and sample values for a user to import, corrupting heap memory to crash Scribus or execute code.
