A flaw was found in Blender. This vulnerability allows an attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution or cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by convincing a user to open a specially crafted project file. Because the application fails to properly validate structure sizes during file parsing, memory overruns occur on the heap, potentially compromising system integrity.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-10-30 16:02:55 UTC
Blender before 4.5.15 and 5.x before 5.2.3 contains a heap out-of-bounds access vulnerability in read_struct() that skips size validation when a .blend file's SDNA struct layout compares equal. Attackers can supply a crafted .blend file with short blocks so field reads, writes, and pointer dereferences overrun heap memory, causing crashes or code execution.
