Doc Text:
A flaw was found in Netpbm. This vulnerability allows an attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution or cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by tricking a user or system into processing a specially crafted image file. A lack of boundary checking in the picttoppm utility allows a polygon with an excessive point count in a QuickDraw Picture (PICT) file to overflow a stack buffer.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-11-02 16:35:30 UTC
Netpbm before 10.86.51, 11.x before 11.02.30, and 11.03 before 11.15.08 contains a stack-based buffer overflow in the picttoppm paintPoly() function due to an unbounded polygon point count. Attackers can supply a crafted PICT file with a polygon exceeding 100 points to overwrite the fixed pts array, causing crashes or potentially code execution.
