A flaw was found in Epiphany. An information disclosure vulnerability allows local users to discover websites visited during private browsing sessions. When a user selects the "Always Allow" option for external URL schemes while in incognito mode, Epiphany stores the visited domain into the user's global configuration. Consequently, browsing history intended to be temporary is saved locally and can be read by local users or applications with access to user configuration settings.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-11-03 08:22:27 UTC
Epiphany's incognito mode uses the global dconf setting for auto-open-schemes, which stores the domain of a visited site when the user clicks the "Always Allow" option. This undermines one of the purposes of incognito mode by persisting the visited domain in Epiphany's configuration.
