A flaw was found in the TYPO3 Mail extension. The backend module renders email HTML content and tracked links without proper escaping. An authenticated user with access to the mail module can exploit this flaw by injecting arbitrary HTML and JavaScript code. When another user views the email preview or activity report, the injected script executes within their browser context, resulting in Cross-Site Scripting (XSS).

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-11-03 10:01:46 UTC
The HTML content of mails and tracked URLs are rendered unescaped in the backend module. Backend users with access to the mail module can inject arbitrary HTML and JavaScript, which is executed in the context of other backend users viewing the mail preview or report.
