Disclaimer: Community trackers are created by Red Hat Product Security team on a best effort basis. Package maintainers are required to ascertain if the flaw indeed affects their package, before starting the update process.

A vulnerability was detected in Delgan loguru 0.7.3. The affected element is the function AnsiParser.feed of the file loguru/_colorizer.py of the component ANSI Color-Markup Parser. Performing a manipulation results in inefficient regular expression complexity. The attack is possible to be carried out remotely. The exploit is now public and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.

I reported this upstream. It has been a while since the last release, but the upstream developer has been active lately, so it’s reasonable to hope that they may come up with a patch in the near future. If that happens, I’ll apply it here. Meanwhile, anyone who is using the loguru Python package to log untrusted input should not configure their logger with color=True.
