A flaw was found in NetBox. An access control vulnerability in the bulk component creation interface allows an authenticated remote attacker to bypass authorization checks on parent devices and virtual machines (VMs). By submitting arbitrary device or VM identifiers to BulkComponentCreateView, an attacker with component creation privileges can view restricted device details and create components on unauthorized devices.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-11-03 19:59:48 UTC
NetBox from 2.9.0 before 4.7.4 contains a broken access control vulnerability in BulkComponentCreateView that allows authenticated users to bypass view permissions on parent devices and virtual machines. Attackers with add-component permission can submit arbitrary device or VM IDs, or _all with filters, to view out-of-scope device details and create components on them.
