A flaw was found in Kyverno. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by submitting specially crafted resources evaluated by the In and NotIn operators. Because the policy engine fails to properly validate unexpected data types, processing these inputs triggers an unhandled crash. This failure halts Kyverno's policy engine, disrupting cluster admission control and security policy enforcement.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2026-11-05 22:16:04 UTC
Kyverno before 1.19.2 contains a denial-of-service vulnerability in the In and NotIn operators that allows attackers to crash the policy engine via an unchecked type assertion. Attackers can submit resources whose JMESPath-evaluated values yield arrays of integers, booleans, or mixed types, triggering a panic that disrupts admission control and policy enforcement.
