Description Charles Stanhope 2001-02-19 13:50:21 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98)

Hardware: Toshiba 2250XCDS laptop with 128 Meg RAM. Windows 98 is on the
first half of a 6 Gig disk. HDD 63 sectors, 255 heads, 730 cylinders
(according to BIOS).

Installation Method: custom

After booting from the CD and choosing text installation, I get
successfully through the install process up to the point where any
partitions are formatted (after package selection). The format completes
successfully, but then I receive an error message and the installation
quits. The bug doesn't appear to be related to formatting new paritions
during a particular session because the error occurs even if the
partitions are already created and formatted (and I disable the format
option).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.start installation from CD using text option
2.Complete package selection using a custom installation (selecting
individual packages)
3.Installation hangs before installing anything

Actual Results: If format option is selected, partitions will be created
and formatted, but nothing else happens.

Expected Results: Well, the installation should have completed

This is the output from the installation software:
