Description devin 1998-12-04 15:17:01 UTC
I found that installing on some machines that have edo
memory some packages fail and the install continues until
it hits the dev package then it totaly dies. The bizzare
thing I discovered was that if you switch the setting in
CMOS from auto or 60ns to 70ns then they do not fail.

My original message to support is below:

> Also on the i386 version, if you have EDO ram and your
CMOS
> memory setting is set to 60ns it will fail every time.
However
> if you change the setting in CMOS to 70ns then the
install will
> not fail. This not only stands true for the devs package
but
> other packages as well.

I have not been able to replicate this problem in the lab.
