Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. open xchat
2. select Settings->Palette
3. observe crash

Comment 1 Red Hat Bugzilla 2001-03-07 21:59:29 UTC
tried it on a few machines... cannot find the bug

Comment 2 Red Hat Bugzilla 2001-05-02 20:58:36 UTC
I got caught by this bug. The solution was to "rename" my old .xchat config
directory out of the way and let xchat create a new one. Worked fine after that,
but I had to re-create my various settings.

Comment 3 Red Hat Bugzilla 2001-05-03 18:33:48 UTC
More info.

Even after having xchat recreate all the config files (which allows the program
to mostly work), going into "pallette" causes a hard crash.

Reproducible on my workstation at will.

Comment 4 Red Hat Bugzilla 2001-05-07 19:28:45 UTC
Even more info...

palette is not the only setting that can trigger this failure. Specifically, it
appears the problem is a setting in the xchat.conf file. Deleteing this file and
leeting xchat recreate it will always result in a working program.

Sent mail upstream.

Comment 7 Red Hat Bugzilla 2001-07-16 22:47:25 UTC
Still happens with new 1.8.1 version.

Comment 8 Red Hat Bugzilla 2001-07-18 16:41:46 UTC
Ugh, I built XChat with debugging and this went away ;-)

Comment 9 Red Hat Bugzilla 2002-01-07 12:27:51 UTC
I'm not able to reproduce this in xchat 1.8.6 which is currently
in rawhide, and will be released very soon for older releases, just
because I'm such a nice guy. ;o)

I'm marking it ERRATA. It should appear as errata within a
week.
