Description Eric Hopper 2007-10-08 16:26:37 UTC
Description of problem:
If you visit that website when you have a globally routable 6to4 IPv6 address
you do not get the IPv6 version of that page which allows you to set up reverse
DNS for your 6to4 /48. In order to get the IPv6 version of the page you have to
explicitly use the IPv6 address in the URL and visit

http://[2001:dc0:2001:7:2d0:b7ff:feb7:f7f9]/

this is pretty icky.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.0.0.5-1.fc7

How reproducible:
Every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Set your machine up with a working globally routable IPv6 address in the
2002::/16 block.
2.Point firefox at http://6to4.nro.net/
3.Observe the page claims that you're coming from an IPv4 address.

Actual results:
The page claims you're coming from an IPv4 address and won't let you set up the
reverse DNS entry for your IPv6 6to4 block.

Expected results:
The page should tell you that you're coming from an IPv6 address and should
allow you to set up the DNS servers for reverse mapping your IPv6 6to4 /48 block.

Comment 1 Pete Zaitcev 2008-01-30 01:34:33 UTC
The http://6to4.nro.net/ seems to work fine for me, it detects my address
2001:470:1f05:51:219:b9ff:fe58:7ad6 (it's a tunnel with Hurricane Electirc).
I'm going to close this.
