Description of problem:

Directory name in passwd file has trailing blank character after rename.

Needed to temporarily change home directory from  

/home/leslie         

to

/home/leslie.sep 

(september backup)

Used Gnome menu for usermanagement

On return from /home/leslie.sep  to /home/leslie  via the directory file rename,

a trailing blank was appended to the directory name in the passwd file.

How reproducible:
Assume user leslie
Create directory  leslie and copy to leslie.sep  

Switch user directory to /line/leslie.sep ;  log in, do something, and then
while still logged in,  switch user back to /home/leslie and log out.

you will require root password for gnome. 


On trying to login, User Leslie could not be entered.

Corrected by using root account to edit /etc/passwd file

This message is a reminder that Fedora 7 is nearing the end of life. Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 7. Fedora 7 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on June 13, 2008. 
Fedora 7 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not 
receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we 
are closing this bug. 

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version 
of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.
