Description James 2007-10-28 18:04:55 UTC
Description of problem:
When the track properties box is first used on the currently playing track in
Rhythmbox, the UI hangs. Sometimes this is just until the end of the song.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
rhythmbox-0.10.1-2.fc7

How reproducible:
Often.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Rhythmbox.
2. Begin playing an album.
3. Right-click on the track currently playing and choose properties.
4. Wait and see if the Properties box is displayed.

Actual results:
UI hangs. Music keeps on playing, sometimes going on to the next track and the
UI recovers.

Expected results:
Properties box shows immediately.

Comment 1 Bastien Nocera 2007-10-28 18:38:50 UTC
Please gather a backtrace of the hang (using the info at
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/StackTraces), and let me know the output of:
rpm -qa "gstreamer-*", and which types of files are involved (ie. just MP3s,
happens with Oggs, etc.)

Testing with Fedora 8 would also help.

Comment 2 James 2007-10-28 18:52:41 UTC
Happens with both MP3 and Vorbis files.

rpm -qa "gstreamer*":
gstreamer-plugins-ugly-0.10.5-2.lvn7
gstreamer-python-0.10.7-2.fc7
gstreamer-tools-0.10.13-0.1.fc7
gstreamer-plugins-good-0.10.6-1.fc7
gstreamer-plugins-bad-0.10.5-3.lvn7
gstreamer-ffmpeg-0.10.2-2.lvn7
gstreamer-plugins-schroedinger-0.6.1-2.fc7
gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10.13-1.fc7

Running rhythmbox -d, it doesn't appear to be a complete hang. I've attached a
debug output, hope this helps.
