On an intel L440GX+ reference platform with no disks attached to the
internal controller, aic7xxx.o goes into an endless loop trying to reset
the SCSI-buses. The module works fine when loaded manually from the
command line.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Unplug disks from internal controller
2. Boot RH7.1 without specifying noprobe as argument

Comment 1 Brent Fox 2001-04-16 21:59:27 UTC
Do you have any drives in the machine at all?

Comment 2 mkp 2001-04-16 22:17:42 UTC
2 x 30GB WDC WD307AA on the internal IDE controller,
5 x 9GB IBM DMVS on the SYM53C896 SCSI controller,
8 x 18GB IBM DDYF on the Qlogic 2200 Fibre Channel controller.

Comment 4 Brent Fox 2001-04-19 17:54:32 UTC
I think this is a kernel problem...we've had a couple of reports like this. I
reassigned bug #36601 to the kernel.
