When I close my laptop's lid Amarok's playback stutters for half a second. 

How reproducible: 100%

Shrug, then don't close the lid?  :)

Regardless, if you feel there's a problem to solve here, amarok is not the place
for it (most likely), something lower in the stack (powermanagement, kernel,
audio subsystems) is the place to look.
