-> s-c-n How do your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-* files look like? system-config-network-1.5.5-1.fc8 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 8 With recent updates I removed all network interfaces and rebooted. The results were encouraging, with the interface now appearing as wlan0, but I have yet to make it actually work. I discovered that I had both orinoco_pci and hostap_pci loaded. I have tried blacklisting one or the other, and with only hostap_pci I get wifi0 instead of wlan0. Still the same result. Status right now is that iwconfig lists wifi0 or wlan0 as a wireless device, but iwlist <device> scanning doesn't find anything. At least it's not a s-c-n issue anymore so this case can be closed, and I'll ask for help on the hostap mailing list. system-config-network-1.5.5-1.fc8 has been pushed to the Fedora 8 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. |
