Odd, WORKSFORME, I use it almost every day. I'll go try resetting things, and try setting up a new user, and see if I can reproduce this. I know, somehow it stopped working all of a sudden, this was before the upgrade to 3.5.8. However I did delete kopeterc, and only kopeterc. When I also delete .kde/share/apps/kopete it doesn't crash, however it still can't connect to MSN which was my original problem. I get this when I run kopete inside a terminal: MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0 MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0 MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0 MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0 MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0 MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0 MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0 MNG error 1029: Chunk out of sequence; chunk TERM; subcode 0:0 From the users perspective it tries to connect a couple of seconds and then just stops, no errors, nothing. When I google on this error I found this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kopete/+bug/153670 Which describes a similar problem on Ubuntu and was the reason for this bug report in the first place. Perhaps this helps. Ok me confused, today everything works again. AFAIK nothing changed, but today I can connect to MSN just like before. I guess there were some problems/changes with MSN itself, one would expect some kind of error message from Kopete in such a case which wasn't the case, but as long as it works I guess. Will reopen/submit a new bug report if I have any more problems. |
